Summary, etc. الكتاب يقدم دراسة تبحث الإصلاح الديني في المسيحية من خلال دراسة الأديان، وراعى المؤلف فيها الجانب التاريخي بقدر ما يخدم الرسالة، وفي دراسته حول الإصلاح في الإسلام حاول قدر المستطاع تحاشى الخوض في جزئيات الإصلاح والتجديد في الإسلام، اكتفى بالوقوف على النقاط الرئيسة للإصلاح في الفكر الإسلامي، ومواقف المجددين ومن ثم قارنها بالإصلاح الديني في المسيحية، وعلى الرغم من كثرة المجددين في الإسلام إلا أنه تطرق فقط للشخصيات الرائدة والبارزة في الإصلاح. وجاءت هذه الدراسة بغية التعرف على الإصلاح المسيحي الذي قام ليزيح حقبة البابوية ولاهوتها من مجرى تواصل الحضارة الغربية، بينما مثل الإصلاح الفكري في الإسلام إجتهادات المصلحين لتجديد وتنويع خيوط الإتصال، وتوثيقها بالمنابع الجوهرية والنقية للإسلام، وإزالة الشوائب والعقبات والبدع من قنوات الإرتواء الفكري من تلك المنابع النقية.
